Trouble locking out frequencies from my scanner

I'm trying to lock out several frequencies from one of the channels. They are some police and fire frequencies that were already stored into the scanner. I went through the steps by pressing L/O/L/O RVW and got the "LO" at the end of the frequency number. But when I went back to "scan", the were still there. Any advise ?
