Hello, I used the "Win500" program for many years. If you Google it, you should be able to find the download site for it. You can download it and use it for a month for free, which should give you plenty of time to program your radio. I have the WS1040, which is the handheld version of the WS1065. I'm actually going to order the WS1065 in the next week. The Win500 software works on the GRE PSR-500/600 and Radio Shack Pro-107/197 variants. (All were made by GRE up until a few years ago when Whistler bought them out)

Where are you located near Boston by the way? I might be able to put a file together for you. Do you know if the police are using Motorola P-25 or analog?

Also, I find it easier in the long run to just program in the main departments I want to listen to first, then add other departments little by little to build up my own radio file. Sometimes when you download your area from an online source, you get a bunch of stuff you don't want or need. (Just my opinion)

There are three software programs that will work for that scanner.

PSREdit500 is one of them. The others are Win500 and ARC500.
Object Oriented Scanner Software - The RadioReference Wiki

Unfortunately, I do not have any of them on my laptop, which is what I am currently using.

Since you are a premium subscriber......

And if it's the PSREdit500 software that you're using, click on this link to get instructions for using the Radio Reference Web Programming Service to program your scanner using that software:

Hi nutella,
PSREdit500 is also a great program you can use free for 30 days. The link from fxdscon will be helpful if you end up using that program.
I'm not familiar with that program but it appears to be similar to Win500.
I don't know exactly where you are, but you can find nearby trunking systems here: Massachusetts State Police Trunking System, Statewide, Massachusetts
Find what you want to listen to and enter just the frequencies in red, but make sure you select the correct trunking type. (in your case Motorola P-25 Auto)
