Anyone know the height of the tower at Trumbull PD headquarters on Edison Road? There's lots of todo in the neighborhood about a proposed cell tower location there which is suppossed to be 400 feet. I'm curious how that would compare to the existing tower. I'm not sure 400 feet is accurate. That seems awfully high.

EMS license says 30 meters, PD license says 27.5 meters to top of antennas at 158 Edison. At 128 Edison the licenses say 15 meters.

Thanks. I can't imagine a cell tower four times that height. I'll have to do a little more research to find out what's really going. Lots of crazy stuff out there about this whole matter. I'm thinking that most of the people along Edison Road with "Stop the Cell Tower" signs on their lawns have cell phones! Oh well.

Jim sound like the old "I like that we have ________, but I don't want one in my backyard / neighborhood" scenario. Oh well.

In that area 400' for a cell tower isn't unreasonable. With the terrain around there, I could see why they'd want a tower of that height.

I did a quick search on Trumbull, CT at the FCC Antenna structure registration database
ASR Registration Search

That didn't come up, so it might be less than 200 feet. Only one did in Trumball, a 150 meter (493 feet) tower on Booth Hill Road. So if you are familar with that tower, it would be about 100' taller than a 400' tower.

400' is a little high for the typical cellular site, but not unheard of.

I understand the tower would be about 185 feet or a little more than twice the existing tower. Since at least one neighbor I spoke with didn't even realize there was already a tower there, I don't think the new tower would be that big a deal. If those living nearby are expressing concern about property values being affected I would wonder what brought them to buy a home so near to the police headquarters building. Its a utiliterian structure in a residential neighborhood. Are property values in the immediate area going to be so drastically impacted by another 100 feet of tower? I would not purchase a home within eyesight of that building or any other office/commercial structure. That's my choice but, clearly, many people don't have a problem with that. When those living in the area bought their homes they probably paid a bit less because of the location. It all comes out the same in the end!
