I would comment, however, that packages like this are really for the more experienced...they present a lot of system information that most average joes would not understand at first...

You can try Unitrunker in the mean time. Unitrunker

Unitrunker or TRUNK88 will work for you. If you have a newer scanner like a 396/996/15XT, GRE 500/600, etc then you don't need to decode with your soundcard and can use other apps also.

Also, soundcard or not you still need to tap your discriminator if you have not.

However before you go spending money, precisely what system are you trying to decode? Is it already defined in our database? Go up to the top left, under the site title, in the blue toolbar directly beneath it, is a link for it. Use the resulting pulldowns and let us know the URL of the system(s) you want to watch. If it's a plain jane Smartnet system, the chances are pretty decent someone has already done the homework

Don't forget that the x96XT does not need a discriminator tap for Unitrunker/Trunk88/Pro96Com, as these will work just as happy with the Control Channel Output function.

EDIT: Of course this deviates from the original "sound card" portion of the OP since the control channel output goes over the serial connection ... my bad!
