Trunk in NW IL

I've had zero luck trying to pull in some trunk towns. I'm up in Algonquin with a BCT15 and and a mag mount(mounted in house).

I know the first clue/mistake must be my antenna setup right. I've always pulled in great signals from DuComm (Bartlett PD) but this must be an entire new ball game I suppose.

I have programmed other somewhat close agencies with the same results. What else can I do? Or someone just get me pointed in the right direction.

From Algonquin you should be able to hear the Lake County EDACS system (http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&sid=535) without problems.

Also try the Comm Ed 900 MHz. Motorola system (http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&sid=2927)

The StarCom21 system will not work on your BC15, nor will the upcoming McHenry County system.

None of the communities in your area currently use trunked systems, the nearest are Island Lake and Port Barrington using the Lake County EDACS.
