Trunking issues with BCT 8

I had been trying for months to get my BCT 8 to pick up a certain trunked system. I read the manual over and over figuring I hadn't set up the Motorola Type II setting properly. I couldn't pick up any talkgroups in the system I wanted to hear...then I found the solution.

I had to set up the memory bank to read control channels only. Then miraculously the trunking system came through. This may seem like a silly story, but I am sharing it in case another BCT 8 owner cannot pick up their desired Type II system. It was weird because I didn't have to do that setup with the control channels for any other agencies that were using Type II.

so I am have the same prob. I put in the TG IDS and it keeps putting up an error yyyyyyy!!!!????

Motorola type 1

Now I did finally get to put in the freq. without an error coming up but I don't hear anything.
I followed the instructions in the man. but nothing,I'm in PEI and I know that that Motorola type 1 is what they are using here(RCMP fire ems and city police) are all that type,...so do I have to do something else with the scanner.
