After 24 hours of use. So far I'm happy in the big picture of things. I mainly use a SDS100, so that's where my comparisons are coming from.
Seems to be doing a better job of handing NXDN. I'm a rail fan, and there is a decent amount of NXDN use in my area at the rail yards.
DMR is doing okay, but I need to program some systems in for further testing.
Simulcast distortion is there, no surprise. But it's tolerable. No big secret SDS100 wins the day.
As far as reception is concerned. Both scanners seem to be tit for tat. Using whip antennas or outside antennas, doesn't really matter. I'm either in range of what I'm trying to listen to, or I'm not.
For me the TRX-1 is not replacing anything, simply complimenting the other scanners I already have.
Only annoyance so far is setting up the backlights to turn on when squelch is broken, and turning off when scanning resumes. Depending on how I program in the general settings, they are either on all the time, or off all the time. Any pointers is greatly appreciated.
