Noticed a C7 is being added to various task forces and MVAs. Is this a new division territory in addition to C5 north and C6 south?

Short answer: Yes. C7 responds out of Station 53. I don't know the divisions yet, but from what I gather, it's probably central stations (50, 51, 53, 65, 66, 69).

Long answer: no. Back about ten years ago, when Oregon City was contracted with TVF&R for coverage, stations 57, 58, 59, 358, 359, 50 (now Clackamas Sta 16 - Hilltop), and 54 (now Clackamas Sta 15 - John Adams) made up the East Division, with C7 responding out of Station 58. After Oregon City chose Clackamas Fire, the East Division slowly became absorbed into the South Division.

EDIT: Correction - Sta 54 was where C7 responded from...along with the district's Water Rescue team.

(I love the wayback machine... :D)

As far as present day terms. TVF&R has divided it's district back up into 3 divisions, not only as an operations level but I believe as an administration and prevention level too. Like said, C7 will respond from Station 53 in Progress and will cover Stations 33, 35, 50, 51, 53 and 69. It is now known as the Central Division. C5 has North from 67's and has Stations 60, 61, 62, 64, 65, 66, 67 and 68 (and technically 368 also). C6 has South from 34's and has Stations 34, 52, 56, 57, 58 and 59. This is from what I know and what I gathered from their website. Hope this helps.

That's just plain stupid. That's a 15-20 minute ETA from Progress to Sherwood. Even code 3, you're going to have a hard time fighting traffic on 99W. Meanwhile, C6 is about 7-10 minutes away...

Remember though, this isn't always for calls. It's part of the chain of command, C7 will oversee these stations with personnel, operations and what not. Remember CAD pulls the closest units (for the most part).

And if you listen to Portland you will also hear C7. He is the Gresham Battalion Chief.
He used to be C701. Likewise, the PDX Battalion Chief is now C8. He used to be C801.

I really wish the Metro area would follow through with a signle numbering system for all departments. It was talked about a year ago. Granted Gresham and PDX aren't near our side of the county, it woud still help.

That is correct, station assignments are for supervision and administration, response is closest unit. Lake Oswego B1 actualy covers response for station 58, but not responsible for admin duties.
