I am trying to make sure I understand the listing on Wildlife Management frequencies in the state. Any additional info on these freqencies? I have what is on the reference page, but am unsure if there is an input for the frequencies listed other than that one. In other words will I be able to listen to all of there dispatch as well as mobile units? Thanks, I am just a little confused as there is only one input and it is over in Cleveland. I am trying to get communications in middle TN.

These are repeaters. Input not important or necessary to hear the conversations as long as you have a digital scanner. Just enter 159.240 and 159.300 and set it to digital (FM on RS scanners) and you are set to hear what is generally pretty monotonous interactions. Personally I have them in the scanner but locked out. I find forestry to be more (relatively) interesting to listen to.

That is true you must have a APCO-25 capable radio to listen to these freqs as they are digital.
I am not sure if the new P25 Ham radios would decode this or not, but would be a waste in this area since there is not a P25 repeater.

Hope this helps.

The TWRA guys are very active in the summer around here. When boats or jet ski crashes they will be called out. For the news folks that listen to it its a good jump.

RE: Monitoring TWRA

FYI...I have found that adjusting the digital setting on my 396 to 5 Auto works best for TWRA in southeast Tennessee. (Hold on frequency, hold function key down, press down volume knob down twice to adjust AUTO setting)
Sounds great, no issues with this setting. I would assume this also works for 996.
