I recently bought a BCT15 and UASD.
I came from using a PRO-2006, so UASD is taking a bit of time to learn. I have a
few
questions which I can't seem to find an answer to, in the BCT15 manual or the
UASD help
file...

1) What is "Active Channel Display Mode" (in the config editor/miscellaneous)?

2) Should the AGC be on or off? I would think it should be ON, to level out
differences in
different channel volumes. Why would one ever want this off?

3) Can I temporarily plug in a frequency via the front panel (without having to
program it in)?
On the old PRO-2006, I could punch (manual) (then enter the freq) (manual) for a
one-time
jump to a new frequency.

4) How does one "rotate" the F knob using the Online Control?

Thanks

While I don't have the BCT15 (yet), I do have the BCD996T. The supplied software, and manual leave a lot to be desired. Bush could use them to get POW's to talk!

I suggest you check out the software for your scanner from Butel! You can download a free trial.

It's radio software designed by radio people!

Amen to that!

Thanks for the info. I was trying to remember the the name "Butel." After wrestling with Uniden's software, I'll give anything a try.

I used the UASD to program my 396, and I will agree, it is not very user-friendly. After carefully reading the directions, it worked great. One thing that made it easier for me is someone locally here has a site with a datafile that can be directly imported to the UASD.
