I have acquired a used mint UBC780XLT. The owner did not have original AC adapter. I am eager to try it out. I have a 12V 800 ma adapter and a 13.5V 250ma adapter. The 780xlt manual states that the adapter must be 13.8V 700 ma. Which existing adapter that I can use to try out the 780xlt?

I believe you have a European version of the 780 there - neither of your adapters are likely to work. It might be time to do a little research to find out if someone can get you a manual (unless UPMan knows the answer - and he might...) best regards...Mike

My (US version) BC780XLT scanners are powered from a 12VDC power supply w/12VDC battery reverting. I've never had an issue for years of 24x7 operation. Make certain that the 12V 800mA adapter you have is DC output and the center connector of the round connector is positive (and of proper size) and it should work fine.

The 780XLT is a very good receiver. Enjoy.

That should do it. Thanks for the replies. I will run it from the 12V 800ma adapter. Thanks again.
