UCA P25 Roadtrip report

I was in the passenger seat for a drive from Richfield, Utah to Lehi, Utah with my SDS100 searching 769-775MHz the whole time to see what I could hear. This was just with a Remtronix duck antenna, so just the strong stuff was coming in. Only control channels were heard, no voice traffic.
The Sys ID shows up as 28h for the new UCA system

Site 9 - 773.99375 - Around Salina and part of Hwy 50
Site 41 - 769.16875 - South of Nephi
Site 75 - 771.79375 - Strong in the Nephi area
Site 95 - 772.10625 - Seems to have the widest covered south of Utah county along I-15
I was also getting 771.36875 down by Richfield, but I didn't get a System ID, so not sure (but it is likely UCA)

As we approached Payson, site 95 faded and I could not pick up anything all the way through Utah County up to Lehi.

Site 95 is likely SCIPIO PASS WRMT214 MILLARD 5.8 KM SW OF SCIPIO
Site 9 is likely BARTON PEAK WRMA449 SANPETE 16.4 KM WSW OF EPHRAIM
Site 75 is likely LEVAN PEAK WRLD366 JUAB 7.8 KM SSE OF LEVAN

If u remember the NAC on that one that u didn't get the ID, the NAC = site #

How close to richfield?

In my search on the spreadsheet 4 sites comes up with 771.36875 from fcc, thats new harmony (iron county), Gunnison prison (sanpete county), Clayton peak (utah county), and Cedar Hills (Utah county).

771.36875 was probably Salina area.
Good to know about 01E. It shows up as 1Eh on the SDS.
For 01E in Utah County I got:
769.43125 = Site 16
769.11875 = Site 29

I also got a few hits on a 0Ah site. Not sure what that is.

0A is probably unified fire, they don't use it but its there. Its on 700mhz too

It is possible that new harmony in Iron county would reach to Richfield , which would explain 771.36875

We need someone or some more people who live in Southern Utah to pitch in with info, we need all the help we can get. I'm limited of where I can go and I don't drive so if I'm traveling (which don't happen alot) I submit what I can, but we need more help to identify 120+ new sites coming online..

Sound like 3 zones now and seems someone found that mysterious site for 771.36875

I did some logging this weekend and found the following sites in Central Utah with active control channels. I travel the central part of the state often so I'll keep my ears on. Is there a better place/post/wiki to upload this kind of info as we gather it?

That cedar mountain frequency is a little high for what we've been hearing, generally the Frequency range is from 769-775 mhz.. I think we have most of those submitted

I think we have most of the sites that are online til spring and the snow melts, then they probably will start again to finish the rest of them before launch of going live with testing the talkgroups on them

Sorry I fat fingered the Cedar Mtn freq. you are correct. I didn’t know if there was interest in knowing which sites have a control channel uo and running or if that’s already been reported. I spend a lot of time in the west/central areas (Juab, Millard, Sevier, Garfield, Wayne, Beaver). If I can be of help, I’m happy to contribute.

There are a couple of sites on the UCA Motorola that came online, I've identified one but if u head south and can hit a site on mount Edna in piute County 851.825 I think. I think its site 44 on 643E but we need confirmation if u have unitrunker or a scanner that at least gives us site info or any other info u can give including neighbor sites or adjacent sites. All these Motorola sites even the still new ones coming online will all eventually be p25 or a part of p25 on 700 mhz later

The other site is Blackhawk which is in indian canyon/price canyon and is near castle gate US 191 turn off to Duchesne from price which is site 45 on 643E 851.775.. I've got some of the info, its on the fringes of how I can hear it

I’m headed to Kanab on Wednesday for work. I’ll check the location of Mt Edna and see if I’d be able to hear it at any point along my route. I’m running an old BCD396 but have just purchased an SDS100 that will hopefully be here before I make the trip. I’ll see what I can find.
