It was happening to me yesterday, also. You might want to report it to the Administration people.

I tried a few times last night with no luck, and its the same today.
I can post in most other forums just not in the "For Sale" forum....

Thought I read somewhere a while back that only people who pay the fee for the extra features would have the ability to post in the "for sale" forum. Just don't remember where it was but 100% percent sure I saw that on here.

awhile back Lindsay had a post stating after the new release only premium subscriber would have access to post in the for sale forum. That was the only forum that I was aware that would be the case in. I believe it was done not to punish anyone but to keep the chance of someone being taken of advantage of. I am in no way saying that this is this persons intentions just what I have read awhile back. I could be wrong as this may have changed because this was about the time they annouced the upgrade. Maybe Lou or someone could comment on this and clear this up if this is the case. There may be a case you have to have over so many posts to post an item in the for sale forum as well. Like I said not sure but hope we will get the answer to your question.

I don't recall reading that.
I just did a quick read through the premium subscriber benefits and that was not listed.
I can respond to posts in the For Sale forum, I just can't create them.

I also just tried from a different machine and it still did not work......

I'll wait to hear from some of the site admins...
Thanks,

There was talk of being a premier member to sell, but I'm not, and I still listen an item just a bit ago. As far as limiting access to members only to prevent fraud, well that won't stop anything. You have to be a member of ebay to sell, and there is tons of fraud there....

There have been difficulties with various forums and users being able to start a new thread. There does not seem to be any consistent factors affecting this (or at least we haven't been able to ID any). It seems to be intermittent and then goes away.

As for the premium members only being able to use the for sale forum, that is indeed a planned change; however, it is not implemented yet.

That is a great idea one of the added benefits of being a premium member.

Why would it be a "great idea"? It would not stop fraud, as anyone could join and do a scam whenever they wanted to. That was the main reason I've seen mentioned for such a scheme.

Actually that is not true. At the moment anyone can join, but to be a premium member requires a paper trail involving money. So although at the moment anyone can (including fake ID's) join, the paper trail will at least provide a method of finding someone if necessary. It will also cut down on the idle BS that appears so often in the Classified forums from those people who just cannot stop themselves from making some improper comment about someone's items; experience has shown, those people who support the site are less prone to be improperly outspoken.

Yup nothing is perfect. But if I see a post of something for sale from someone and it is their 1st post (or a low number), I will be suspicious. I think it is a good mix/compromise between allowing everyone to use the site for free, and those who are actually using the site to "make" money pay to help run the site.
