I enjoy listen to my local airport’s control tower. I do not understand every thing that they are talking about.
What I would like to know is there any books that explain the terminology and understanding of airport operations and or Air Traffic Control that somebody could recommend? Web sites?

Thanks…

One quick thing to know is if you hear them say "Information Lima is Current", that is the current ATIS to the pilots.

Air Band Radio Guide (Abc, 978-0711030756) by G.R. Duke
Air Traffic Control (Abc, 978-0711030749) by G.R. Duke
Air Band Radio Handbook (Sutton Publishing, 978-0750937832) by David J. Smith

All three are UK books but should be easily available in the US. I found them invaluable years ago and they are updated fairly regularly.

Also from England-used to be on ebay-The Airband Jargon Book by Ron Swinburne which I found very helpful. Adkad
