• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

You should now go to tab E4 click ADD and select all protocols in the drop down menu (one at a time) no other changes are needed.

Next go to E7 name the zone if needed, double click on the knob position you'll get a pop up box for RECEIVE MODE select Trunking TG Scan, and name the knob position, click OK.

Look for P25 Trunking System and select the system you entered in E2 from the drop down.
Look for P25 Trunking Protocol and select P25 Trunking from the drop down.
Scroll to the Talk Group List (near bottom) and select the TGs you want, I suggest you don't use the priority box unless you really want to as it will cause drop out of traffic on other TGs when it checks for priority TGs.
Repeat as needed

I will be happy to help, but please remember I'm not sitting at the computer 24/7, I will respond as I am available.

1. Go back to tab E select the profile from the pager, and click on EDIT (bottom left), no need to connect pager yet.
2. In the new screen that opens go to tab E2-1 and click on ADD and select Add from system resources, your entries on C1 should show up, add them to E2.

Let me know when you have this done.

After you complete POST #21 instructions you can now connect the pager, program it and test it.

Go to E19 and select program.

Later you can fine tune it and add other options.

Thank you again Sir,

Feel free to ask questions here if needed. I'm glad you are trying on your own, but I want you to go back to Tab E in the other (original) screen and export what you have now. This way if you make a mistake or mess up something you will have a backup. DO THIS EVERYTIME you make changes. I just save my changes to a file with _NEW at the end so I do not have a hundred files on my computer.
