hi, i am new with this aquipment and i would like to know were i can buy the program with cable to update my scanner .
Just bought a use 246T and i think it need update; I live in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. thank you for your help.

You need to go to the Uniden site http://info.uniden.com/twiki/bin/view/UnidenMan4/BC246TFirmwareUpdate , and then download the programs applicable to your scanner. You must follow those instructions exactly. More than a few users report difficulty with hardware updates, so if your scanner is doing OK, and you don't need the functions in the update, then don't.
