Do accessories come with the scanner?
The site doesn't specify if the equipment that normally comes with the scanner (e.g., batteries, charger) are included. It doesn't appear as though they do. When you add these items, even with the discount, the amount turns out to be about the same as normal price. Has anyone ordered this product using the coupon? Do you have to pay extra for the accessories?

Debola, I ordered a BCD396 from Uniden Direct, I used the NEWS25 code, and they applied a 120 dollar discount. Overall I saved about 60 dollars from what it would of cost me from anyone else selling the exact same unit. It's new, not refurbished, and it will come with everything that is suppose to come with it.
Box should have the radio, antenna, 3 rechargeable batteries, a/c adapter, SMA to BNC adapter, Serial DB-9 programming cable, E-Scanner CD, belt-clip with belt-clip mount, and owner's manual with warranty card.
When you say pay extra for accessories, just what accessories are you talking about? If its not what I listed above, then it was never suppose to come with the scanner to begin with. So in that case it would be an additional cost.
BTW, I ordered my Scanner on Saturday, and they Shipped it on Monday. FED-EX's site says its currently leaving Memphis, its next destination is Gulfport MS, and then my house. Tomorrow by 4:30 PM... (grin) I can't wait...

Accessories on Discount Item
Thanks for the response. By "accessories" I meant the items you mentioned, which are normally standard for the BCD396 (attenna, batteries, etc.). I wasn't sure if these came with the unit. Other scanners on the Uniden Direct site list what is "included in box" just below the image of the scanner, but for the BCD396 it did not list this. Moreover, when ordering, the accessories tab listed all the items you mentioned. Hence, my confusion.

I wish I had some way of calling their dispatch and finding him and seeing if he would just hand it over to me upon showing proper ID. But I just need to be a little more patient I suppose. I just find it very hard to believe that they would sell me ONLY THE RADIO with nothing else. The accessory page is normal. Just about every business that sells radios will also offer accessories to buy, which include what is already included in the box, just in case you lose or damage an item. I could see your confusion. But as soon as it arrives I'll post back what my final bill was and what all was included. Hell I might even take some pics and post those.

But since the code only covers 120.00 in discount, they only took 120 dollars off the total cost before shipping charges.
As soon as I completed my order, I got an email from Uniden Direct's NEWSLETTER which also included the same code once again, inviting me to use NEWS25 on their site to save 120 dollars on their stuff.
If you subscribe to Uniden's NEWSLETTER through email, they'll occasionally send you PROMOTION CODES, like NEWS25 only those people who receive the newsletter will ever know about those codes, unless someone like K9SWX comes in here and posts the code (evil grin) Thanks K9SWX for posting the code... Saved me over 50 bucks.

Yeah I guess that would be so. I thought it was odd that they didn't contact me like the webpage said they would. They just went ahead and shipped. Hey I'm satisfied, not only did I save $90 from what it would of cost me elsewhere. Been listening to the scanner all night. So far its working fine.

Although I have the 996, bcd 15 and the bc72,(among others) I ordered another bc72(like new) because of the 25% discount! I know its limitations(no trunking, ect.) Price was $47.99 plus $10.00 shipping. After the 25% discount the total price was $45.99 including shipping! Ordered yesterday 10-17-07.

I just ordered the BCD396T (10/18/07) with second day Fed Ex the total was $ 429.38,at that price it's a deal thats hard to beat.I definately saw the $120 discount limit message the other day ,but I backed out and cancelled the order. Today there was no limit that I could see when ordering,they charged my card for the $ 429.38 so I would assume thats the price.
