Uniden BC75XLT Screen Blank

I picked up a BC75XLT from a friend for cheap because the LCD (not backlight) display is blank. I was previously using a dongle on my smartphone. Luckily this was already pre-programmed to local frequencies and I've now used software to add frequencies. I'm not high on the ladder of tech knowledge. Are there some easy steps, short of replacing transistors, capacitors or other istors, that I can follow to troubleshoot the problem? I can get one with a working screen for less than $80 so it's not worth paying Uniden $70 to fix it. I have no experience changing out components on boards. Thanks in advance!

First of all I would suggest you try my Scan75 Control Program.

This has full real time control of the scanner (including what the Scanner display has) so you can verify everything else is working OK.

Even if you can't get the display on the scanner working you will still be able to use and see the scanner with the Scan75 Control Program.
