BCD436HP/BCD536HP: Uniden BCD 436HP Audio is choppy, like its got a priority scan on? Breaks up

On my scanner I don; 't think any features are enabled but when I do a zip code search the scanner works, but when it stops on a channel the audio cuts out after a few seconds for a brief moment. Reminds me of old Motorola radios when the scan function was on. I checked the priority scan and it is off. Thes audio is hard to understand since it breaks briefly mid-sentence. Any ideas?

Of course you should check ALL priority modes are off.

Other than that, could be a case of Simulcast Distortion.

And what system are you listening to while this is happening? I noticed that you are All Phase 2 simulcast. Do you think this might have something to do with it? What system are you listening to and what is your hometown?

OP... I noticed that it is actually a type ll smartzone system you may be having a problem with and in that case we need to look at a number of things and not just simulcast distortion. Give us more details on exactly the systems you are having a problem with and what exactly you're trying to hear and what your hometown is.

I am in Boulder CO listening to Zip code search, high band and combo of P25. Actually it looks like R Mason hit the solution on Close Call. Not sure how I had engaged that accidentally, but when selecting OFF it seems to have taken care of the issue. Thanks. However there is a wildfire in progress here and when Close Call was on (Even thought I did not do it intentionally) it seems the tactical and command channels are coming through. With it off, I am not sure they are programmed into the zip code search. Thanks everyone.

You may want to look at enabling Close Call DND if you need close call functionality. Close Call DND (Do Not Disturb) will not interrupt transmissions.
