Never needed to.

Here's how:
Turn scanner off.
Press and continue to hold down these 3 buttons....
2,9, and "hold".
While still pressing those 3 buttons, Turn scanner on.
Release buttons and Follow prompts on screen.

You can do that in FreeScan, too (if you mean wipe out all your existing data and start fresh). ...Mike

Thanks for the help,, I tried that a few times and it did,nt work, but I,ll give it another try. Thanks again.

It's not the easiest thing to hold the required buttons down while powering off the scanner. If your fingers aren't "just so" the desired action doesn't occur.

My advice before you try this, is to be sure you really want to wipe the slate clean and start anew. Sometimes it's better trying to figure out what is going on that gets you thinking about a reset.

number one is turn the scanner off not hit the buttons.
ok if the scanner is off already skip to press and hold.

As stated earlier, it isn't easy. Have someone else turn the scanner on while you hold the buttons.
