as i'm listening to MOH on fleetnet on my BCD396T, I sometimes don't hear both sides of the conversation. Keep in mind that i'm using CC only mode for Motorola systems. Does this have anything to do with patches? or is there any setting i can change so i can hear both sides of the Conversation?
thanx

Do you consistently only hear one side? Or just now and then. If there are patches in place, that would make you miss conversations if you dont have both talkgroups that are patched programmed in (and the radio is in ID Scan mode. With ID Search mode you would be ok).

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry9700/5.0.0.862 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/332)

Depending on the area, there could be multi-selexts happening...although I don't think I've ever seen that on MOH groups.

I have my 396XT set with i-call on and ID search. I never miss anything on Fleetnet. The only time I get one-sided conversations is with fixed-wing air ambulance. The helicopters around here use PCOM (150.100). You hear MNR use i-call a lot.

both sides

It is very hard to hear both sides of conversation with airplanes.
Here i get medivac 100% clear. But I still can't hear the other end.
I don't know why though!!

PCOM is sent through Fleetnet towers while the MOH fixed-wing frequency isn't.That's why medivac always comes in nice and clear and you hear both sides. If you listen carefully, you'll notice the same dispatcher on Fleetnet and PCOM.

Yea, not quite.

Every Fleetnet site has a PCOM transmitter/receiver. The MOH fixed-wing frequency I assume you mean the AM 129.275. That is most certainly on Fleetnet towers.

You'll have to clarify though, as Ornge uses UHF and VHF.

Point of note, they're not always Medivac. They're only designated a Medivac flight when they're on a scene call or transporting to a hospital.

If 129.275 is sent through Fleetnet, why don't we hear the dispatcher? I live 15 kms from a Fleetnet tower and all I ever hear is the aircraft end of the conversation. And up here in the north, it's pretty much always a Medivac call.

Likely, they aren't using lots of power, and you're too far.

Just a few examples....those numbers (17.6, etc...) are TX power ERP. So, they aren't very high powered. This shows that they're using Fleetnet towers.

129.275000 LONDON - BYRON OPP TOWER 17.6 Her Majesty The Queen in Right of The Province of Ontario (GMCO)

129.275000 KING CITY, ONT. OPP TOWER 17.3 Her Majesty The Queen in Right of The Province of Ontario (GMCO)

129.275000 KENORA ON ( MOH CACC 5 BAY ROAD) 14.3 Her Majesty The Queen in Right of The Province of Ontario (GMCO)

129.275000 HAZELWOOD, ON (OPP SITE) 11.4 Her Majesty The Queen in Right of The Province of Ontario (GMCO)

I don't know where the tower is, if it's at the CACC or if they use it @ the closest fleetnet tower (Mt. St. Patrick) but I've heard Renfrew CACC talk to the chopper before on 129.275

I'll edit this now, heh, looked it up on tafl and it's licensed to the Mt. St. Patrick tower. So that answers atleast that part anyways.

There's nothing of the likes up north. Search "Cobalt", that's where the Fleetnet tower is and you'll see nothing. Same as Haileybury, where the MOH pager tower is and still nothing. So things must be different down south.

129.275000 MURRAY MINE (OPP SITE) Sudbury, ON Her Majesty The Queen in Right of The Province of Ontario (GMCO)
129.275000 NORTH BAY, ON (NEW CACC-35 FERRIS) Her Majesty The Queen in Right of The Province of Ontario (GMCO)
129.275000 TIMMINS (OPP SITE) Her Majesty The Queen in Right of The Province of Ontario (GMCO)
129.275000 TIMMINS, ON (700 ROSS AVE. EAST) Her Majesty The Queen in Right of The Province of Ontario (GMCO)

These are the only ones within 150 kms from my location.

Once again, it's not on every tower. Nobody has ever said that as far as I know. They wouldn't need it on every tower since the plane/helicopter is so high.

And since Timmins is further north then your location and they have it, it must be in the north.

ANYWAYS.... GETTING BACK THE THREAD
To answer Forts question, it only happens from time to time. I almost constantly monitor the Demorestville tower. I also have I-Call option turned on. If their is a way to put in patched talkgroups in the 396T, i would love to know how also.
