Uniden Close Call Patent Issue

Is the reason why Uniden's Close Call feature must use "Press any key" because of a patent issue with Optoelectronics and their "Reaction Tune"? Or possibly an issue with GRE and their Signal Stalker?

Considering that the vast majority of Uniden scanner users would much prefer to have an immediate display of the received frequency, I'm sure that there must be a patent or legal restriction holding Uniden back from fully supporting this feature. Thanks.

I have often wondered the same, it will tune the audio why not show me the frequency too?
