Hello friends, I have a Home Patrol 2 scanner. I use the frequency typing shirt I am interested in, instead of entering a zip code. The reception quality of the frequency is good, as I marked in the picture, but I hear nothing. The same is true with additional frequencies. What might be the problem?

Which system or systems are you trying to program and which agencies do you want to monitor?

Police, p25 Phase 2, not in Canada or the US. I enter specific frequencies I know, there is an reception indicator, but no sound, there is silence.

If there is an absorption indication, it means that the frequency is active, then why is there no sound?

OP sent this as the system he’s trying to monitor: Israel National Police

I sent this reply:
Well there is no talkgroup information listed so we don’t know if it is encrypted but it does show as being simulcast. Either or both are likely an issue. Did you just type in one of the frequencies directly? Or do you have this programmed as a trunked radio system?

When that "Listen" text are red I would assume it's an encrypted signal, the red indicating that you are forbidden to listen. I bet it would skip over the channels if they where scanned.

Israeli police is not encrypred and is not simulcast.
He'll need to find the control frequencies in his area and program it with ID search on.

You need to program it as a new P25 trunking system, not just tune in to the frequency.

I was of the impression that you can scan all P25 trunked systems as conventional when scanning its voice frequencies when NAC code are set to ignore or search?
