Well this might of been discussed here before but I've missed it so here goes and please excuse my ignorance.
Today, while I was about to turn on my Home Patrol I noticed that the rubber duckie antenna that comes stock with the HP was more forward than it has ever been. Meaning that the antenna used to point to my ceiling but now it seems to almost be pointing to me.
Clearly someone in my family have touched it somehow but I do not know how to fix it?
Rubber grommet maybe?

Contrary to popular belief, the top section of the antenna can rotate in the base below the 90° fitting.

Tighten it up nice & snug & then hold the threaded part with one hand & use the other hand to align the antenna vertical. Mine was very snug, but it moves in both directions fine (I don't use it anymore - I got a Diamond SRH-789 back in the beginning of June).

ah.. thanks Scott that did the trick. Funny as it be, I took out my Diamond SRH-789 and put it back on after this incident however I didn't extend it up this time. I used to use it and my family members (the kids) would come passed it sometimes and clip it and my heart skipped a few beats more than it should. So I went back to the stock one but we will see and thanks for the information.

On the antenna that came with my HP-1, any rotating of the antenna is unscrewing a connector.

EDIT: correction - only if I go counterclockwise. If I go clockwise, the 90° part does rotate. (Going counterclockwise either unscrews the antenna from the HP-1, or disassembles the antenna between the 90° connector and the scanner.)
