Hello, I am new to using the Uniden P325 Scanner. I am an experienced Conventional Scanner user and own several Analog type Scanners. I have heard of Programming Software for the P325 to program it. How can I get started using the 325? Its a very complicated scanner. I would appreciate any advice or suggestion to get this scanner up and running.

Hi & welcome to the RR forums:
Here is the easier to read manual for the BCD325p2. Give it a read to familiarize yourself with the basic (& not so basic) operations of the scanner. Also review the RR wiki entry for the 325p2. This contains more useful info & valuable resources

According to the database, Woodbridge NJ runs a P25 Phase-I system here containing simulcast cells. With that said I'll direct you to another wiki here discussing simulcast distortion which you may (or may not) encounter while trying to monitor this system with anything other than a Uniden SDS100 or 200. It's one of the most discussed topics/issues on these forums so the 325p2 may not be the best receiver to track this system. Then again you may be lucky and hit a sweet spot on the system and be able to track it just fine, it's a gamble. This may seem like a whole lot of info to take in at first but stay with us & don't hesitate to ask about anything you don't understand. Plenty of knowledgeable folks here willing to lend a helping hand.

I see this is your first post, welcome. There's a LOT to learn. I tried to use the base model, BCD996P2 on a system, but it didn't turn out well. I used Freescan to program that unit. The reason for the bad reception is it is a simulcast system and I had to move to an SDS-100 to solve that issue.
