HP-2: Uniden repair

Im looking for a place that repairs HP2 scanner. MY PC DOESNT RECOGNIZE IT YET THE PC RECOGNIZES OTHER SCANNERS. I REFORMATTED THE SD CARD BUT STILL NOT RECOGNIIzing. Other than that it works fine

And how did you format the SD card? With an external card reader?

You did set the scanner to Mass Storage mode (When Prompted) when you plugged into your computer right?

The scanner won't recognize a new (or newly reformatted) card until you use the "clear user data function" in Sentinel. Put the scanner in "mass storage" mode, then start the clear user data function and check the box that says "display all drives" to select the card that you formatted, then follow the instructions.

If he did a format with an external card reader, he can also do the Clear User Data there to if so desired before putting it in the scanner...

That's the last place on earth I would want to touch my $500 dollar scanner, or anything else for that matter.

Swapping SD cards is the quickest and easiest way to determine if the SD card is the problem. Once a SD card is formatted, you need to go to the HomePatrol tab and click on Clear User Data.
