Hello,

I am trying to set up alerts. I cannot get them to work. I have programmed them as follows:
1. Manage favorites
2. Select favorite
3.Select sys, department, channel (only one of these)
4 Select tone, volume, color, flash rate
5. I then back out of the menus and begin scanning
6. No alerts sound or light.

What am I missing. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
VA3YRM

After you change any of these settings you need to hit "E" to proceed to the next setting and again after setting the light hit "E" then the left soft key (system key) to return to scan.

Thanks for getting back to me. Yes I do use the e (yes key) at the appropriate time after I program each item. If I
I look in the alerts, they are all programmed correctly. They just don't seem to work.

In the scanner menu: When you select tone and scroll through level, you should hear the tone. When you select color, the LED on the front panel should light.

Sometimes it can be as simple as you actually have the system programmed several times at different places and the one you edit are not the one that are scanned.

When you get a hit on a TG, or conventional frequency, and get no alert or light then push Enter and select edit. Then you for sure will be editing the correct instance of that TG or frequency.

When you're making the selections, are you pressing the E/Yes key or Selector knob before backing out of the menu?

The OP confirmed that in post #3.

Should have been clearer, but once the Alert Tone is set, are you scrolling down to Alert Level and pressing the E/Yes or or Selector knob and setting the level to anything other than Auto? That would be the only other reason than I see mentioned.
