I was listening to 453.150 MHz last night. Nothing much was going on, however I heard dispatch tell a particular unit to switch to Channel 3. Does anyone know what that frequency is? I checked 460.100, 460.450, and 471.2625; It wasn't any of those. My only idea is that it's actually the County's EDACS system, which may just be considered "one channel" on their radios. Any ideas??

Union Cty MA

County mutual aid is dispatched through the Elizabeth FD, perhaps one of thier units was operating on the M/A channel by mistake. It happens alot.

Elizabeth FD has designated the Union County Fire Mutual Aid Channel as their Channel 3.
It used to be their primary dispatch channel. You will, at times, hear them refer to and operate on it.

Elizabeth FD serves as the dispatcher for Union County Fire Mutual Aid.

The MAC chiefs also have access to 2 tactical channels on the county's trunked radio system. They are referred to as TAC-1 and TAC-2.

Ok, then that explains it. In that case, the unit probably didn't realize they were already on Elizabeth FD Ch. 3 when telling them to switch over.

They were prob talking on two freq at the same time. ch 1 and 3. iv heard that before. the dispatcher may have been talking on UCFMA (3) then went to talk to someone on ch 1 and it came over both.
