Thank you

Thank you Rick for your great contribution to the hobby. I tapped my first radio a couple months ago (PRO-2046) and have been having a blast with UniTrunker since. I just tapped my trusty old PRO-2004 tonight and am watching a local military APCO P-25 385 Mhz system with 5 sites for the first time.

With an external USB sound card I'm now tracking two systems simultaneously running two copies of UniTrunker.

I'll be giving beta 7 a good workout!

Thanks again,

-Dan

Hi Ty;

That generally means you've selected a combination of recording options that won't work with your hardware. Go to the "Receivers" menu and make your adjustments there. In particular, make sure "Sample Bits" is 16. The sample bits option is new. The signal input and sample rate should be the same as before.

Side note: after selecting "Save" to commit your receiver settings, press "F5" (screen refresh) to update the screen.

I am experiencing a couple of problems with the new release.

On two of my machines (one XP and one W95) I am having no problems. On the third, I keep getting the record error. After I went in and changed the sample bits from 16 to 24, then 32 it still would not work. I went back to 16 bits and Unitrunker worked but the error message ended up on 2 lines and it will not clear ("RECORDING" to the right side on line 1 and "ERROR" to the left side of line 2).

The other problem with the same machine is when I am using Unitrunker on Motorola systems (and MOTO only). The display freezes as soon as the first radio traffic appears. Affiliations work up until this happens. The quality bar freezes as well but I can still use and control the Command / Response Area. The two other computers do not have this problem.

I removed and reinstalled with the problems being duplicated. Older versions worked fine as this is my main radio computer.

(insert crashing sounds here)

When I try to Save a new receiver, the program freezes. The only exit is CTRL-ALT-DEL, although Windows XP does not show the program as unresponsive.

A very minor item. When editing a User, an extra line appears with only the numeral 1 on the line. This is between the User: ave .... line and the Label line. (Seen on an EDACS user edit)

How would you prefer Unitrunker problems, comments, etc be reported? Here (RR.com), trunker group, email, PM or combination thereof? Whatever is easiest for you.

I have noticed this also. Otherwise this new beta is just humming along so far, with no phantom groups being seen yet. Also, I noticed something today that I had not noticed I was missing before, phone patches on an EDACS system. I know they are happening, and today running beta 7 I can see them again.

Thanks again for all your work on this app Rick, it is truly appreciated. Do you have a paypal donation account we may be able to send any funds to so we can show our appreciation?

Damn, I spoke too soon, I just got a flurry of phantom groups in the past 5 minutes... Rick, I will send logs and lists of groups to you via email.

And yes, I have scanned my laptop for viruses, I am clean.

ar5000a support

Hi,
At the risk of this being in an FAQ somewhere, does unitrunker have support for the AR5000A comms receiver?
Also, how soon will we be able to look at the source code to unitrunker?

Cheers,

Pete

Thanks Matt. The log file came through. Those are patches. Unitrunker treats them like temporary talkgroups. Use the [V]iew -> [P]atches display see the patch list shrink and grow.

Yes, but it's very experimental. If you're feeling adventurous - try running the "Tuner" program to test out the radio (it's buried in the Unitrunker Program Files folder).

Soon I hope. I'm anxious to move on to bigger stuff.

That's the system id. I think idea was ... in the case of delegation ... to tell you where that radio id is stored (probably should do the same for group ids).

This is good and lets everyone know what's up. For back-and-forth conversations I may switch to email.

Expect a delay when doing this. If you get impatient and try to close the program - it will display a "Are you sure ? Yes/No" confirmation dialog. Sometimes this dialog gets placed behind the main program window but you can see it on the taskbar. Dismiss the confirmation dialog by clicking yes/no as appropriate.

As a last resort ... right-click on the task bar and select the task manager. You should be able to kill any unwanted program from there (without rebooting).

Not good. Can you provide a summary of what is different about this computer relative to the other two?

I have the same issue.

I have a windows xp machine with a pro-95 as the trunking scanner and a bc780xlt as the voice scanner. The issue only happens when i turn on Listening, if i leave that off it works just fine.

Let me know if there is anything that i can provide you with to help figuring out the problem.

I just noticed that it works fine with 1.0.34, but not 1.0.36 or 1.0.38.

Hope that helps.

Hi Magnus;

What listening or park mode are you using? I'd suggest avoiding the "Mute" park option. Use one of the other three.
