Rick, When using the Unitrunker on Moto II, everything is working fantastic.

I have now started on EDACS. Can't get it to decode it. It's a Edacs wide 9600 system. When running packets, I get alot of, "unknown single OSW". Something I should change in the settings? Or weak signal?

Thanks for any help.

Start with the basics. What does the signal look like?

Run UniScope ... take a look at the signal in Oscilloscope mode. Does it look reasonable?

Next, set the symbol rate to 9600 and the symbol type to "pulse". Do you see a decent looking eye pattern?

If you're not sure what to expect ... post the on-screen images here.

To get snapshots of your UniScope on-screen images, use [Alt] + [PtrSc] keys to copy the active window to the clipboard. Run Paint or any other image editing program and select [E]dit -> [P]aste to drop the image into the editing program. Select [F]ile -> ave and save the image(s) using a compress format like PNG or JPEG.

Likely actions will be ...

1. a better signal (move radio away from computer, use better antenna, etc.)
2. use a small buffer amp
3. adjust gain on sound input
4. switch to a different sound input (live vs. microphone input)

Awesome screenshots.

Here's what I see ...

Good: no clipping.

Bad: no legible eye pattern.

Try taking a snapshot of the Oscilloscope view and we'll go from there.

Rick FWIW, I have tried using the 741 as a buffer, no luck what so ever. Also I have tried on 2 different comps. Unfortunately, I only have Mic inputs on both.

Hi Deeke;

Thank you for posting the 'scope screen images. The waveform does not look like an EDACS control channel. Sorry, more questions:

What frequency is this (and in what area) ?

What radio are you using?

How did you perform the discriminator tap on the radio?

Errr thats just great.

Care to share what the problem was so others might benefit?

Or were you attempting something completely stupid that you dont want to admit to?

:)

Cheers,
Matt
