How do you configure a second receiver for voice? I have configured the AOR5000 receiver correctly to decode. I am using a Radio Shack PRO-2052 for voice. However, I can not figure how to configure the second receiver for voice.

1. Type: Both or ?
Model: AOR5000
Role: Signal
Serial Port: COM1

2. Type: ?
Model: PRO-2052
Role: Voice
Serial Port: COM3

I have tried Both, inline , etc. for Type and the PRO-2052 does not follow the voice from the control channel from the AOR5000. Do I parked the AOR5000 on a control channel on VFO or a separate bank with all the control channels and voice channels? I do have the PRO-2052 in remote mode. I probably have an important setting configured incorrectly on the receiver folder. Any suggestions. Thank you

If the PRO2052 does not provide discriminator audio, it's a Control type. If you still have problems, post a tuner log.

The AOR - attached to a serial port and an audio input - is a Both type. If you want to manually tune, you can disconnect the serial cable, and configure it as a Signal type. You said the AOR5K is decoding correctly so I'd leave it alone.

UniTrunker....Yes, I tried Control Type for the PRO-2052 and it did not work. Do I place the PRO-2052 in manual mode in a blank channel? After I place the radio in Remote Mode, I have tried parking the PRO-2052 in a blank channel, in the same bank of the trunking channels, and a control channel. I am probably making it more complicated then it should be . Thank you for your help anyway.

Make sure Listen is checked on the main Options tab. The program should tune the radio to the park frequency. As voice calls arrive that meet your chosen threshold, the radio should follow, returning to the park channel when all is quiet.

You've pushed the radio into remote mode. Nothing more is needed.

It has been a long time since I had my 2052 out of the box, but I seem to remember there is something you need to do to it in the way you put it in remote mode for it to be able to accept commands. Frank (fmon) is the resident expert on the Pro-2052 and you can contact him here or on the Yahoo Pro-2052 group.

Hopefully this will help...

TURNING THE REMOTE FUNCTION ON AND OFF

To turn the remote function on or off,
hold down REMOTE until the scanner
beeps. SFT flashes when the remote
function is turned on.

If necessary, follow these steps to change your scanner’s BPS (bits per second) rate.

Note: All other functions are inactive while you set the BPS rate.

1. Hold down REMOTE and turn on your scanner. The current BPS rate appears.
2. If necessary, press up or down arrows to change the BPS rate.
3. Press E.

Everything appears to be in order, however, I noticied that on the receiver folder for the PRO-2052 the Park and Listen frequency are the same. I can change the Park frequency, but it does not allow me to change the Listen frequency. When I change the Park frequency, the Listen frequency changes to the Park frequency when I place the receiver to run. Can the Park and Listen frequency be the same?

That is actually a question for Rick, I'm no UniTrunker expert.

I reinstalled Unitrunker and it worked afterwards. I still do not know what I did wrong, but it is working now. I appreciate all the help. I did notice that Unitrunker is using the Rebanded frequencies instead of the Splinter.
