I was decoding NOAA weather satellites and came across two streams of data coming in around the same area of the waterfall, I was wondering if anyone new what the data streams are for, I thought maybe other different satellite's ?? See attachment.

Thanks so much for all the information, and indeed it was an Orbcomm signal after doing research on google and watching youtubes and your information I can confirm it was Orbcomm, thanks so much. Just Started to get into satellite decoding and trying to find out what I can decode. I have a inmarsat antenna coming so I will be decoding these satellites soon.

There is a decider out there for Orbcomm, but it only will only decode (other giving the encrypted HEX) the satellite number and orbital data. You may have seen (I meant to include it)

Yes I did noticed this software I may check it out in the future once I get the hang of decoding Inmarsat I have Jaero and ScytaleC Decoders all set up so when I receive my new antenna I can jump into it. Hope I can receive the Inmarsat's signals strong with the antenna I am getting.

I have also monitored INMARSAT for years and am updating my list of frequencies that many uses. You should see two INMARSAT birds from your location--54 W and the one near 98 W that also hosts a 2nd virtual bird which is usually listed with slightly different position even though it is the same near 98 W. they do that for legacy reasons. What antenna are you going to try using?

I am waiting for the
RTL-SDR BLOG L-BAND Patch Antenna Version 2 - Inmarsat - Iridium - GPS and
SDRplay RSPdx receiver

I am facing North On a fourth floor balcony nothing in my way I see North, North east and North West, I do have a list of inmarsat frequencies that some one made up for the MEM. Panel software I am using SDRuno Software, I do see that I should be able to decode 3F5 54 west and also 4F3 98 west I do have a list of those frequencies and all the others, I do believe they are the updated frequencies.

That is probably the best small antenna that I have seen (I have several of that one) but I generally use a 4 foot dish that I have on a tripod. Note that the satellites you can "see" will be to your south and southeast so your balcony position is not good unless your walls are thin. 3F5 is also called ATL-E (Atlantic East). 4F3 is AMER and virtually ATL-W. Start by looking for INMARSAT-C NCS's on 1537.7 and 1541.45 to aim at the two satellites. INMARSAT-C and INMARSAT Aero are the only things you are probably going to be able to decode. (I was able to decode INMARSAT-D/IsatM2M bulletin board using my own methods until it ceased in December.)

Thanks so much for the information I hope I can pick up something worth while, I'll keep my fingers crossed, I also have a window in my bedroom facing West I can turn the antenna left and right.

Yep I will let you know.

try google play store Satfinder App in the "show AR" mode. You point the camera at the sky and cross hairs appear. Then just move until lined up. I put the camera on the front of my helix antenna for perfect alignment.

It is easier to use signals to align on these. I have done it both ways.

I will be trying different directions to see what is the best for me. I ordered the RTL-SDR BLOG L-BAND Patch Antenna Version 2 antenna from China and am very surprised how fast the shipment is traveling, 7 days and it's down the highway from me all ready in MISSISSAUGA, ON, Canada, might get it tomorrow if not it will be Wednesday.

i was thinking more like a quick site survey so he knows if he can see the satellite at all. i see many people on here buying the antennas and then thinking about where the sat is.

Thanks for the information, I have done a lot of research and watch a lot of YouTube and know the two Inmarsat sats that I can pickup, and there are some iridium sats also I will be able to pick up, I have an up to date lists of satellites also in a MEM File in SDRuno software to go through. I have been using SDRuno Cloud Markers Plugin to put all the satellite information onto my waterfall so I can see exactly were all the satellites and frequencies are, it will make things a lot easier for me. And thanks to all of you for helping me out.

One thing you want to note is that Jaero reports GES as HEX when the actual GES ID is OCT.
D0 (HEX) is 320 (OCT) The is the AMER INMARSAT satellite. This frequency is uplinked from Paumala. Hawaii.
You should also see from the same satellite. The W-ATL INMARSAT satellite is actually a virtual satellite on the AMER satellite.
GES IDs for it are 002 and 005. (uplinked from Laurentides, Canada)
If you look a little to the east, you should see 54 W (E-ATL bird) in the same frequency range.
43 and 44 HEX (actually 103 and 104 OCT) are uplinked from Burum, Netherlands.
(Old lists show erroneous uplinks as INMARSAT "harmonization" consolidated uplinks but kept legacy GES numbers for convenience.)
I will post my full updated list within a couple days. It is more complete/current for 54 W and 98 W than any list on the web.
