I'd like to unlock some frequencies in win97 for use testing wireless microphones and modulating equipment. These include the standard TV frequencies as well as our VHF and UHF microphone freqs. Is there an easy way to do this? Is there somewhere to download those files? I've seen ScanHack but it doesn't mention p97 files.

Thanks.

IIRC, to receive those frequencies with a PRO-97 you'll need to carefully open the case and insert a Uniden BR330T (well, some ICOMs and AORs might work, too).

It takes more than just "tuning to a frequency" to be able to receive what you want. TV audio and wireless microphones use "wider" channels than do typical communications which the PRO-97 was designed to receive.

Yeah there is scanhack.com that works with the pro-95, but not the 97. I think it's possible to hear the wider channels. Maybe not to their fullest extent, but still.

Actually Dubbin Scanhack is a file for use with Don Starr's Win Programs...not the ARC programs...but you were somewhat correct in that it is just a bunch of frequencies that anyone can program in on their own and that Scanhack is a waste of money....for more info see:

In that case, how would I go about editing that file. If I try to edit a freq in Win97 file, its just a bunch of garbage. Is there something that will convert that to a readable file? If I were to try to enter a freq in Win97 that's outside its range, it just changes it to the next closest allowable freq.

Thanks

P.S., KE4ZNR, I like that signature about Jack Bauer!

I can program my station's aural on my 95/96/97 but it is way off freq because it is so wide coming off the stick that I must find that part of the audio channel that will "fit" into my receiver and not blow-out the front end... obviously, wireless mics will work depending upon their range, but even if you do hear them the fidelity won't be what it should be--basically it will be: "Yes-it works," or "No-it doesn't work"... and your wireless TX-to-97 won't have the same range as the complete wireless rig because the wireless TX and RX are tuned to work together and reject a lot of stuff even the best scanner can't reject.....

It doesnt seem like you can program the same frequencies into win97 that you can in Win95/96. If I try puttying a 17 or something else into mine, it changes it to a 25. Anyone else know of a workaround?
