I'm considering upgrading either a BCD536HP or a SDS200 with DMR & NXDN. Any preference as to which might perform better?

Thanks

I have read that the 536 has a better receiver. The SDS main trick is simulcast.

Never thought about that difference! Considering the SDS200 is a SDR whereas the BCD536HP is not. Many seem to think their circuits are basically the same but they are not.

Thanks for your input! (y)

Nothing inherently wrong with an SDR, it could be better than the 536, in this case it solves the simulcast problem.

If you think about it. The simulcast problem is pretty much a public safety TRS problem. Those are so well designed, a highly sensitive receiver is not necessary.

I think either one would do fine; you might have to play with the filters on the SDS200 for optimal reception.

If it were me, I'd upgrade the 536 just because I use the 200 to listen exclusively to the local simulcast system, so why pay for upgrades I wouldn't use?

So I have the nxdn in both 36s and both SDSs, LCNs can be a pain but... I found that the X36s pulled it in better but modulation sounds better on the SDS... it's close, really close. Pick the 36.

Honestly? I monitor the One Voice Network in NY and listen to the New York City DEP Police. Believe it or not, my 536 does better than my SDS 100. I can't speak for NXDN
