Upgrade firmware of the 396T

hey guys, i know this question has been asked many times but i am trying to upgrade the uniden 396T here in Austalia...i know the upgrades were for the USA but is it still possible to upgrade for better perfomance.
I did try but the scanner wont except any upgrades or am i doing it wrong...

I have my doubts - the bandplans aren't going to be compatible AFAIK, and there may well be a country code tag in the firmware that would prevent it.

The firmware for US in NOT compatible with the Australian unit. Do Not try or you could screw up the radio unless you have the previous version to reload if needed.

Search the archives , there are a lot of old messaes on this subject.

Thanks guys, i thought id maybe missed an update or something...havent been on these sites and for ages so i wasnt up with all the goss....but did notice that the USA updates did have some digital fixes and stuff, so just thought their may have been obne for Australia...i guess not....bugger.
