yes, that chopper flies right over the shoreline here in Sea Bright, all the time

I have heard comms on USCG Net 409: 412.975, also Sector NY on 163.175, 162.325, 164.9125 mixture of Clear and "E"

I think these questions and answers are location related.... I dont thrink the cape may channels are active along the nj coast from sandy hook to manasquan....
237.9 is a nationwide USCG air allocation, not just a "Cape May area" frequency.
237.9 MHz - Operations (secondary)
326.15 MHz - Air-to-Ground (primary)
345.0 MHz - Operations (primary)
379.05 MHz - Air-to-Ground (secondary)

Understood, but I have been monitoring these channels from Sea Bright/Sandy Hook NJ for 2 years and never heard anything. Perhaps they are Encrypted?

There should be no encryption on UHF AM frequencies. The USCG uses a LOT of encrypted VHF channels. I was lucky to get inside a USCG restricted communications area (invited with credentials) and was very surprised at the amount of P25 encrypted channels they had in use, it was mind boggling and there was a lot of traffic.

Heard them this past Fridsy on South Medevac channel. They were doing practice approaches at Cape May Hospital and on Alanticare Mainland.
