I;m going to be doing a road trip thru Vermont next month. From Kennenunkport Maine to Burlington VT then up to Montreal. Can someone provide mw with the freqs for the VSP or a link on the database. I'm only finding dispatch center maps on the Wiki page but no freqs. Thanks!!

You might have some luck at SNE's wiki for the New England States

I'm not saying its not worth the time to program but I find VSP to be incredibly quiet. Unless something is wrong with my scanner/mobile antenna set up and I'm missing some transmissions, you can go hours without hearing a single thing on a given freq. Seems a little strange. I know VT is very low in the population category and visually you dont see many troopers on the interstate but it still seems the ones that are on would be busy dealing with whatever calls come up in the many towns with no local PD and half a$$ed sheriffs patrols.

Just my observations from many trips through the state, anybody else with experience have anything to share?

Which barracks are you listening to that you find quiet? Aside from Bradford, I find most of them to be quite active when it comes to voice traffic. However, hours at a time with no voice traffic is pretty unusual except between 4am and 7am local.

Well, I have em all programmed in my scanner.

But...

I have pretty much always listened while rolling down the road at 50-75 mph while driving though the state. Never while stopped for any length of time. That was until a few days ago, I was up on top of Cannon Mtn in New Hampshire and brought my scanner along. All barracks in the northern 2/3 of the state were loud and clear and WAY more transmissions than I usually hear while mobile. Beginning to think something is weird w/my scanner and/or mobile antenna. Could be a UHF thing, I listen to NHSP on VHF while mobile and it seems like I get all traffic. Based on what I heard while stationary on top of Cannon, there was no way I ever heard VTSP at even close to that level of activity in the past while mobile.

Weird.
