Well, you got to listen to the boring stuff I usually get to listen to. 154.9875 is Live Oak Fire Rescue

I've got it listed as Madison County but I think its Madison LEO, not entirely sure. Its just what my bookmark shows.
153.825 RAN5
That might be Dixie County, I've got a couple frequencies bookmarked for their NXDN system, but its usually way too faint for me to want to listen very much. Alternatively, it could have been Madison County's Power Utilities, they have a few NXDN channels around there as well. Can't remember what their RAN is though.

If I knew the bands were going to be open, I probably would have stayed up, I was out cold by 9PM.

oh the stories of being a vol FF in the early 90s and unplugging the fire dept VHF stationmaster at night in S Georgia and hooking it to my (then NEW!) Icom R-7100.... literally every single VHF freq from 154-157 had traffic on it.

UHF must have been open also

I didn't get as far as you ops did,
but I hit a GMRS repeater in Bartow from North Clearwater/Dunedin with my h-t last night

My distance is about 57 miles

One of the ops I spoke with is in Orlando, he's 80+ miles from Bartow

Love it when the conditions open up :)

Yep. I recall flying down I-95 in those days with my PRO-2006 barking non-stop with overlapping fire transmissions from all over the state. Palm Beach County could be heard in the evenings way up by Cocoa and Melbourne on 154.355MHz. It was chaos! And fun.

151.175 is shared with county EMS and two of the small town police depts in Berrien County. Sheriff dispatch is on 151.0925.

There was another band opening last night [Friday March 5th]

I had multiple QSOs on the Bartow GMRS repeater again

The best though, was a very short QSO before conditions changed [darn it!] when a repeater in Perry, FL came in

That's 150 or so miles as the crow flies from my location in North Clearwater

Plus, one of the ops in Bartow was copying a repeater from either Manatee or Sarasota County

A good indicator I've found is to keep tabs on the NOAA weather frequencies
When I heard the channel from Ocala coming in, I hoped that it would be a good night

Was a great evening for making contacts while it lasted

Can't wait until the next one

I happened to be messing with my Hauppauge WinTV ATSC tuner card, and was able to pull TV stations from Jacksonville, Tallahassee(Thomasville/Bainbridge GA), and Gainesville(Ocala) markets when I woke up in the wee hours this morning, and my antenna isn't even pointed towards Gainesville or Jax. If I get some coffee in me, I might even me inclined to browse the VHF Spectrum to see if anything of interest shows up in the VHF band.

I thought I heard you on the Tampa GMRS machine announcing that. I switched over to NOAA and was listening to North Florida transmitters out on Clearwater beach with my Unity. Decent opening.

Yeah, I announced on both the Countryside & Tampa 575 machines,
just in case no one was aware of the opening,
I didn't want anyone to miss any opportunities

The new Tampa 700 machine wasn't up yet,
otherwise I would have announced there also
