With the recent wind storm anyone have frequencies that WE Energies uses? I know I have heard them in 450MHZ and 150MHZ range before. I live in the Waukesha area. I know I see the power crews talking on cell phones quite a bit, but I have also seen trucks with antenna's and what appears to be mobile radios in there trucks. Anyone with some info please chime in

Once upon a time they used a fairly robust UHF system that had a phone interconnect, but that was back in the 90's and earlier. Only reason I know that is I got several of their surplused Motorola portables with DTMF pads, and one of them had a cheat sheet taped to the battery...phone interconnect was still operational :)

After that, they had Spectra's in some of their trucks...but I don't remember if they were VHF or UHF. I see some of their new trucks with both antennas.

The eastern end of We Energies in the UP, Florence, and Marinette counties of Wis. 153.515 DPL 371 and The western part of We Energies in the UP and Northcentral Wis. 153.710 DPL 172. In the Appleton area I'm not sure. You could check the Outagamie business section of RR Database. Most of the dispatching is done by computer, but there is some radio traffic. Cellphones are mostly used when coverage is possible.

Yes indeed, they used to have a neat radio system with the ability to pipe in the their phone system. It seems to still be in place and used but just not as much as in years gone by since mobile computers and cell phones are more the norm for routine comms. In times of really bad weather or thereafter, those frequencies are much more active. In Milwaukee area, 451.050mhz, 451.075mhz, 451.150mhz, 451.525mhz seem to be the most active.
