Looks like maybe truck to truck?

Okay, good! But what would the freq's be for the West End of the U.P.? I see the list but what would be the closest town listed that they would use here?

I doubt you'd hear them, but I would guess the Shawano one. That's quite a hike though.

To add to my question on the 173MHz~ frequencies, I have heard activity on 173.300, but that was a weaker signal here in New London.

Are there any WE Energies/Wisconsin Electric power plants in the Fox Valley?

If you check out the map there is a huge area of the U.P. that they cover, so if you did a search in the FCC database I bet you may find some frequencies for WE Energies in Michigan.

Maybe 173.3000 is used for Security or Maintenance at the Hydro plant.

Could be but I doubt I would be able to hear them sitting in my back yard with a telescopic whip. That's where I was the last time I heard the faint signals.
