Webster County has started its switch over to ISICS

Webster County has went digital as of 12-17-20. Ft Dodge police, Webster County sheriff's dept are digital and Fort Dodge Fire appears to be transmitting on both digital and analog. Webster County Fire seems to be still on analog. I have submitted confirmed TGID's to radio reference.

There has been traffic on 70 talk groups, mainly since the switch over last week. I have 30 self identified groups out of the 70.

Thank you for posting these. Newbie here waiting on a TRX-1 that I just purchased and am trying to update the frequencies with it's software ahead of time but these talk groups are not showing up as of yet when I perform the database update from RR. 99% sure this is due to user error as I'm just learning this. Do I need to manually enter them?

Most likely you will need to manually enter them. RR only has what people send into them and I have found that its up to them (RR) whether they get added or not. So It's not you, but remember the learning curve of a new scanner, especially a digital one.

Thank you Bob! It just got shipped today, so it will likely be this weekend before I get to play with it. I'll let you know if I run into any issues or have questions.

Webster County is having issues with their Harcourt Tower because of the wind turbines interfering and have not turned on all the digital channels. They are working with Lehigh Coop Elevator to install microwave system to bring signal from Ft Dodge to Lehigh then the Harcourt Tower.

I had heard Harcourt had a tower but frequencies are not in RR Database. Not for sure I would know how to program them anyways.

A few things, may or not be true:
1. From what I understand, the Harcourt site (not yet active) will not be a simulcast of the the Fort Dodge site.
2. The site in Lehigh will not be an ISICS site, just a backhaul site to get around the wind turbines.
3. Fort Dodge Fire is not completely setup for ISICS. That annoying humming noise you hear on ISICS is the VHF repeater tail, that is being patched over to ISICS.
4. The County/Secondary Roads is not yet setup either, however you will hear some chatter once in a while as each department was given 2 radios each to to start with. I think they were using 61912.

So I don't have my Whistler TRX-1 yet...still on the way. But I have been reading that the TRX-1 is horrible in an area with simulcast. Not knowing what to look up for Webster county, am I going to have an issue with this scanner?

As of right now, the only one in our immediate area that Simulcasts (2 sites transmitting at the same time) I believe is Hamilton County. From what I understand, Webster County will not be simulcasting when the Harcourt site goes live, but you never know.

You should be ok if you wanna listen to Webster County, but you will have problems if you wanna listen to anything in Hamilton County as it is a simulcast tower. I would help you with programming but I'm an sds200 owner.I'm sure anybody in here will help you if you need it. I learned how to operate mine strictly through YouTube videos.
