Weird Noise

i came across this weird noise, and i dont know what it is.

Would it be a trunking control channel, a satellite???

Who the heck uses netscape? Are you on Compuserve or Prodigy or something?


worked good in Opera 9.

Best guess on the noise is that it is telemetry from anything from a repeater to remote pump/water resevoir etc. May be an MDT, but not one I've heard.

What frequency was it on go to the FCC database and lookup who is licensed for it.

its was on 452.1000, and its listed in my area as Checker Cab of detroit.

worked good in Opera 9.

I refuse to use Exploder and have issues with Firefox and Opera that made it necessary to use NS 7.2(also have issues with NS 8).

Well their website ays they use Digital Dispatch http://www.checkercab-det.com/ there are lots of ways data can be used by the company.

It's MDT data, software/format from Gandalf Mobile Systems Inc /GMSI / ?

Haven't been able to track down GMSI's current website (if any), looks like it's been sold, taken over, or somesuch.

Appears that Gandalf Mobile Systems Inc became GMSI, which was aquired by Geotek Communications Inc, which went into chapter 11 in 1998, and sold off its assets.
Who 'owns' the Gandalf data format, I haven't a clue, now.
