What happened, as it sounds like my scanner died for HCSO... Have not heard anything at all in long time, guess I am going to have to check out the other channels licensed for them...

heres the deal with w/ HCSO..

They have ditched the 800mhz system and moved over the uhf, I tried for about an hour to figure out the freq but with no success.

I know this info is correct, my future paw in law is a deputy there.

When someone finds the correct freq please let me know, post here.

I have a pro-97 and tried signal stalker and the police/fire search but neither came up with a HCSO freq, I was scanning with one of their W/T's and got quite a bit of traffic, I even keyed the mic for a few seconds but it just would not lock on to something.

Hcso

I have just found out the county has abandoned its 800 system and it's old UHF frequency. They are on a UHF trunked system with SCI Communications in Dothan. I should have the frequencies this afternoon.

The frequency I was given is 464.125, however, you hear other non law enforcement on the channel.

Looking up that frequency shows it is licensed to the Metro Link system in Webb.
It has been a long while since I was in Houston County but I think that if they are using the Metro Link system in Webb, they are still going to have problems with coverage on the west side of the county. Just my thinking but I am probably wrong. I have got to get back down there soon.

Possibly so. I'm going to Enterprise tonight so I will check it out. This is a local radio provider in the area that leases radio time on his repeater. The county may use this until the City of Dothan's new system is up and running and then join it. In Dothan it is much clearer than the old uhf and 800 system.

What screwy sounding radio system. Using business frequencies? Jeeze. Where is Matt Houston when you need him?
