I think I have killed my scanner! (I know this probably belongs else where)

Based off some threads here and the Unitracker data I decided to reprogram my BC246T, using my ARC software. I still used all the same control frequencies that I had been using, getting good reception and traffic, just split the UCAN by counties. Mostly just a house keeping thing since my origional setup was done without a very good understanding of UCAN.

Well now I am getting pretty much jack and you know what. Put my old systems back on there and they are not getting much either now.

Is this a Uniden thing?

Do I need to somehow "reformat" the scanner and start over?

Is there a recommended % of memory to keep free? (Using like 73% now)

Got some help on the Uniden Scanner Fourm.

Seems I did not understand how the scanner uses control channels. I had a list of 48 control frequencies from all the sites statewide. I was using that list for all the new county systems I was creating. So systems were locking on to the 1st control channel they got signal from and that site may not of had any traffic from the TGID's.

Sure is great being new to this stuff and making stupid little mistakes like that.

Scared

I gotta tell ya, Rolfman, you scared the daylights outta me this morning when I read that first post. I did not have my scanners on yet and the first thing that popped into my mind is that maybe they made the reband change! WOOF!

I am really glad you were able to resolve your problem. Ain't it great to have the Internet?

Did not mean to scare you by any means.

Yes, the net can be a wonderful thing sometimes. These last few days of posts here have made me really look at what & how I was doing things. (Hence the total reprogram that I botched) I really see this board being the answer in getting through rebanding later this year.
