Hello everyone which digital scanner do I need to scan OPP? Was looking at getting a base model. What type of system is the OPP on APCO 25?

I currently have the BC 245xlt.

Which one..

The BC 396t or 996d will do, as well the radio shack 2096 and pro96 (I think) GRE also has some offerings coming up in the near future, check the GRE forum for more info...

The "base" models you will find are actually mobiles but work fine as either.
I presume it is larger display, keyboard, speaker etc. you want over smaller
HH features.

Current models include RS PRO-2096 and Uniden BC996. Older Uniden's
available on the used market include BC785 (with BCi25 card -- must have);
and BC796. Secondary things to consider are the audio performance on
older models, some of which had issues with AGC (level differences between
digital and analog); and ability to handle newer P25 systems (which use 9.6k
control channel), although this doesn't apply to the Fleetnet systems (3.6k CC).

The Fleetnet system is programmed as Motorola Type II VHF. Extensive info
is on the database here. Don't forget that you MUST program the base/offset/
step from the Custom Frequency Tables, in order to get trunking to work; many
people initially miss this.
