I'm going to buy a Uniden Scanner. I don't know anything about scanners. I live in a rural area, don't know what to get. I've been looking at the 350C. I've listen to scanners that police are transmitting on one channel & receiving on another. Is that trunking? I'll like to listen to Fire, Police, & Weather Channels. And I'll listen to it 70% in my home & 30% mobile. Any ideas.

Take a look at the RR database and get a good idea as to what is being used by local police, fire, etc. agencies to see if you'll need digital or analog.
You may want to increase your budget and get a trunkable scanner. Uniden Direct offers "Like New" products all the time that can save you some coin allowing you to own a better scanner if price is a problem. The BCT8 would be a better buy for the long run. Another option is to buy a used unit from a member on these forums. Usually very honest and take care of their rigs. I've gotten a couple good deals in the past and have no regrets.
