What to buy?

I am new to the hobby of scanning and undecided as to what type of scanner to buy.
I would like to be able to monitor the new rebanding as well as local frequencies in the southern part of the state. Anyone have any recommendations?

If u want to listen to the state and stuff on that system u will need a digital scanner. Depending on ur level of scanners. U could get the Radio Shack Pro 2096 or Pro96. Both really good scanners. Or u could go with BC996 from Uniden. Depending on what u can afford and what ur budget is able to afford. If u don't want to go digtial then I would go with something like the Pro 97, or even Pro 2055. Or the new Pro 433. But if u can I would go digital.

Any updates on Indana rebanding and trunktracker operation ? ( Specifically the PRO-96 )
