Hi;

I will be coming to Washington for 3 weeks and I have room for 30 T/G for PD/Fire/EMS. What do you recomend for my 396? Also, are the interagency T/G busy? I have some room in my other scanner, what should I listen to on the Fed frequencies?

Thanks,

Crackerjohn

CrackerJohn - Although I can't answer your question directly - I don't work in DC anymore - there is something that you need to be aware of when programming this system. You must set up 2 base/offsets to make it trunk correctly. An example of the ARC396 screen for this is shown here. I'm sure Scan Control's screen is only a little different; I don't know about the UASD.
I'm sure Dewey or dtscho can help you with the tgs - heck if it were me, I'd unload some memory and load everything for the area I was going - where in DC will you be? That will no doubt play a role.

73s and safe journey...Mike

As Mike (ka3jjz) said, a lot is going to depend on where you'll being staying. Room in your 396 is almost a must since most of the area is trunked and a lot of that is digital. For your conventional scanner, you can go with the Capitol PD (164's, so-so), Park PD (167's, active with traffic), and PG Co, MD/FD (494's, very active), MD State (39's, so-so) and VA State (159's, active with traffic). Most of the rest, DC PD/FD, Montgomery Co, MD, Arlington Co, VA, Alexandria City, VA and Fairfax Co, VA are trunked, and except for Arlington for a short while longer, the rest are also digital.
