I mean the IC-R3. As long as ICom was making them, they were quite easy to come by on Ebay. Now that ICom stopped making them, they dropped off ebay faster than a bolt of lightning. I'm sure there's pleanty of these going around, just that now nobody is selling them. Did ICom force this? Did the EULA license agreement that came with it say that you are authorized to dispose of the the unit when you are no longer using it, including by selling it, but that when ICom stops making it, selling it is no long a disposal option for IC-R3 owners (or else they risk being sued by ICom)? Is it something like that? Please explain. I'd really like to get an R3, but they aren't being made now, and nobody's selling them on Ebay either.

The R3 wasnt a big seller. It drained batteries almost as fast as it drained your wallet (it was expensive). You're just going to have to wait for a private seller to put one up on Ebay. I also see them pop up now and then on Craigslist.

Luckily it also uses a power adapter, so no need to use batteries, unless I'm in a car. But why the major discrepancy at Ebay, between before and after ICom stopped making these? I mean ICom can't control what people sell on Ebay can they?

Is there any alternative to the R3 (made by any company, I'm not partial to ICom), that has similar frequency coverage, and can handle both AM and FM modulated video signals?
