Anyone know what happened to Upman?
You need to remember that this is not an official Uniden support site. Therefore, they have no obligation to post anything here. Whatever they do here, they do as a courtesy, not because they have to.800crazy1 said:i just think it would be better costumer support for uniden to say .... we have been notified by numerous customers about concerns of problems with this radio , uniden is aware and is in the process of addressing these issues
So does GRE, but they made the information public through many channels. This is not GRE's official site, but they amde sure it was psoted on RR.MarkEagleUSA said:You need to remember that this is not an official Uniden support site. What I see here is from Uniden it's my fault, or the users fault, or I'm not close enough to a tower or I'm too close to a tower... and that's why my BCD396 motorboats.
Heck, there's a problem, and enough users in various areas of the Country have reported it.
Acknowledge it at least... they could and should, the message would still be why isn't this being fixed... but at least they are saying it's out there.
GRE did that and more when they had problems, and they fixed pronto, because if they got a bad reputation that would kill most of their sales.
Uniden doesn't worry about that here because there are too many willing to drink the "Kool-Aid." Me I'll consider a GRE next time.

Since there have been a few firmware upgrades and they have failed to fix the machine gunning and EDACS beeps, I have to assume it is not fixable. Maybe in their next scanner, but I don't intend to find out. I'm tired of paying $500 plus to be a beta tester.
